City Of London Police : Romance Fraud

Category: Public/Explain

Type: Brand Film

I created a series of design and animation assets to support a public awareness campaign addressing romance fraud for City of London Police. The work focused on delivering clear, engaging visuals that helped communicate the risks of online scams and encourage safer digital behaviour.

A comic-style storyboard with six panels depicting a story about a victim of online abuse. Panel 1 shows a surprised woman looking at her phone, with orange arrows pointing to her shoulders. Panel 2 shows the woman winking with her tongue out. Panel 3 shows a phone with a message notification, and a brief description of her online profile. Panel 4 shows the woman walking alone with orange arrows pointing to her and her surroundings. Panel 5 depicts her at a computer with orange arrows pointing to her, and her profile with details. Panel 6 shows her in a photo with her profile details.
A woman with blonde hair wearing a red dress standing in a dimly lit room, looking at her phone, with a shadowy figure with red outlines nearby.
Illustration of a woman in a pink dress holding a mug, with large text that reads 'BEFORE YOU RE-TOOL'.
A digital illustration of human eyes with the words 'WE ARE MENTAL' embedded in the irises, set against a purple background.

The campaign combined strong visual storytelling with accessible messaging to reach a broad audience across digital and social platforms. The animation and graphic design were developed to simplify complex information and reinforce key warning signs associated with romance fraud.
